Community Standards

StepsPoint Community Guidelines

StepsPoint is a shared community for consumers and business owners. We are dedicated to maintaining a welcoming, safe, and helpful environment for everyone.

1. Be Respectful and Constructive

We encourage honest feedback β€” both praise and critical appraisals. However, critiques must focus on the service, goods, or experience provided, rather than attacking individuals.

Encouraged Behavior

  • Respectful tone even when expressing dissatisfaction.
  • Giving business owners a chance to resolve problems.
  • Recognizing excellent staff and standout hospitality.

Prohibited Behavior

  • Personal insults, name-calling, or spiteful remarks.
  • Using profanity or abusive epithets in reviews or replies.
  • Blackmailing or threatening negative ratings for freebies.

2. Zero-Tolerance Violations

The following behaviors result in immediate content removal and permanent account bans without prior notice:

Hate Speech & Discrimination

Attacking or discriminating against individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, or sexual orientation.

Harassment & Doxxing

Publishing private contact details, home addresses, phone numbers, or encouraging targeted brigading against a business or individual.

Threats of Violence or Coercion

Any threat of physical harm, property damage, extortion, or extortionate demands made to business owners or fellow patrons.

Impersonation & Fraud

Pretending to be someone else, creating fake consumer personas, or running automated bot networks to manipulate rating scores.

3. Moderation & Enforcement Steps

When a community report is submitted, our trust and safety moderation team takes proportionate action:

Warning: Minor infractions may trigger an educational notice and request to edit the content.

Content Quarantine: High-risk or flagged submissions are removed from public visibility pending review.

Account Ban: Repeat offenders or individuals responsible for coordinated fraud or severe harassment are permanently banned from StepsPoint.
